Duval County Sunshine Math

After winning our 2nd Grade Math Brawl, our friend "A" went on to compete in the district competition. Out of almost 30 other 2nd Graders from different schools, "A" placed 2nd overall!!! Way to go "A"... we are proud of you!

Coins!

We have spent the last few weeks working with addition and subtraction in Math Workshop. Throughout this time, we have also been working on adding and subtracting amounts of money too! Our unit included identifying coins, making trades for different amounts, and solving story problems based around money. Check out this website that takes you on an adventure to teach you how coins are actually made. You can also explore coins from around the world. Have fun exploring!

Math: Time & Graphs

In Math Workshop this week, we have been studying both clocks and graphs. In particular, we have learned to tell time to the hour and even to the half hour.
