Awards and Field Day

Today we celebrated our final Awards Ceremony and Field Day in Second Grade! We started our day off with a performance of 'Lean on Me' for our parents and then followed with our final Awards Celebration! After a pizza lunch, we headed outside for our annual field day. This day was filled with tug-o-war, dancing, donut races, and even a dunk tank! Thanks to Mrs. Driscoll, the kids had a chance to dunk a teacher! We are so thankful for her participation. We truly enjoyed this day!

Final Publishing Party!

Today we celebrated our final publishing party for Writer's Workshop. We have been working on writing responses to literature through our Tomie dePaola author study. In the beginning of the year, we wrote book reviews on some of our favorite books as a way to respond to them. This time we wrote much more creative responses! Check out our pictures!

Chets Creek Garden

Today we had a fantastic day in our classroom! In the beginning of the school year, we planted different vegetables in our school garden. Today, we were able to enjoy all of the yummy things we saw growing all year long! We baked kale chips, made herb butter, and baked herb bread. We also sampled broccoli, ground cherries, and green beans. We had a fantastic day thanks to the help of Mrs. Driscoll and Mrs. Zenk! Enjoy our pictures!
