Report Writing

In writing we just finished doing reports on unique and interesting animals like our friend "J" did a report on the fastest animal on land- the cheetah.
Our friend "I" did a report on an animal where echo-location comes in real handy- it’s the bat.
Next our friend "A" did a report on an extinct animal- the raptor- which has an ancestor that is the biggest dinosaur in history.
Last but not least, our friend "L" did a report on a mischievous mini-monkey the pygmy marmoset.

Publishing Book Reviews

We began our Response to Literature writing genre a few weeks ago. For this genre, we decided to respond by creating book reviews. Over the course of a few weeks, we learned how to create an engaging beginning, a summary of our book, share our opinions, recommend our book to a certain audience, and close by charging our readers with a task. All of these lessons together helped to create a book review! On Friday, we celebrated our hard work with our second Publishing Party! All of our fabulous book reviews can be found hanging outside of our classroom. Come take peek! Also... check out our friend L's book review below:

We Are Published Authors!

Last week, we celebrated the end of our Personal Narrative writing unit by having a PUBLISHING PARTY! After many weeks of writing stories about our own lives; each student published their best piece. During our publishing party, six students shared their finished piece with our class.

We ate popsicles and cheered on our fellow classmates while they stood tall and shared. We are so proud of ALL of the authors in our classroom. Check out our hallway to see your child's personal narrative piece hanging up!

Here is a sneak peek into our classroom during our publishing party. Our very own "J" is reading her personal narrative piece. Enjoy!
